Taco Bueno continues its expansion in Texas by opening a new store at 310 This Way, Lake Jackson, Texas 77566. This new restaurant’s vibrant color scheme highlights the brand’s fresh and high-quality Tex-Mex.
In addition to vibrant hues, energy-efficient led lighting, realistic design, colorful accent lighting and high-top bar seating, Taco Bueno Texas allows guests to utilize laptops and tablets. There are also digital menu boards and promotional signage. Modernized restaurants offering contemporary Tex-Mex flavors, ingredients, and goods and frequent menu modifications will continue to drive development in 2022.
In 2019, Guillermo Perales, the owner of a Dallas restaurant franchise (Sun Holdings, Inc.), purchased Taco Bueno. The company was established in 1967 in Abilene, Texas, and it has over 145 sites in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Mr. Perales anticipates that Taco Bueno will continue expanding and gaining momentum, with over twenty new outlets opening within the next year, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s history as it celebrates its 55th anniversary later this year.
According to Mr. Perales, Taco Bueno has stayed loyal to its roots by handcrafting authentic recipes in each kitchen. In contrast, other chains in the same industry have turned to manufactured items to minimize expenses. The brand does things the Bueno way, and the difference can be tasted. Taco Bueno reinvests in limited-time specials with premium meats, such as fresh-never-frozen ground beef, grilled chicken and brisket, and salsas, guacamole, and beans cooked daily from scratch.
The Muchaco®, a taco with a soft, pita-like shell, is one of Taco Bueno’s most popular menu items. In addition, Taco Bueno provides a range of “Big Freakin®” alternatives, which are double the size of their best-selling counterparts.
Guillermo Perales established Sun Holdings, Inc. in 1997 with an SBA loan. Mega 99 ranks Sun’s portfolio as the second-largest franchisee group in the United States in its 2021 Rankings. Mr. Perales has established a portfolio of firms that own and run over 1,300 locations in 12 states, generating over 28,000 jobs. In the past three years, he has also overseen the establishment of nearly 200 new stores and 200 store renovations.
His firms currently own and run Taco Bueno, Burger King, Popeyes, Arby’s, Applebee’s, T-Mobile, McAlister’s, IHOP, GNC, and several airport restaurant outlets. Mr. Perales’ organization has received the MUFSO Golden Chain Award and the Top 10 Power List from Nation’s Restaurant News. In addition, he has been named Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year, IFA’s Entrepreneur of the Year, Dealmaker of the Year, and Latino Executive of the Year by D CEO Magazine, as well as Nation’s Restaurant News’ Most Influential CEO for 2021, and has appeared on Latino Leaders Magazine’s 101 Most Influential Latinos list for multiple consecutive years.
