Turn your Head to Co-Branding Resturant Initiative by WOWorks

Saladworks, Frutta Bowls, Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh, and The Simple Greek, all part of the WOWorks family of restaurant brands, enjoyed expansion in 2021 with the launch of six sites and the signing of six new franchise agreements in 10 states.

Chief Development Officer for WOWorks, Eric Lavinder, spoke of accelerated growth of co-branded WOWorks restaurants due to healthy-halo brands meeting growing menu and flavor demands and having the size and operational flexibility to open alongside existing restaurants and in a variety of non-traditional spaces. By combining a front- and back-end, co-branded restaurants may start more quickly and cost-effectively, attracting more guests and increasing sales.

Saladworks and Frutta Bowls are scheduled for a co-branded restaurant in West Bloomfield, MI, in December, marking the first location for both companies in the state. Another co-branded facility will open in Middletown, DE, where Frutta Bowls will be added to an existing Saladworks restaurant. And, for the first time, a Frutta Bowls restaurant in Hermitage, Pennsylvania, will be co-branded with Saladworks.

Numerous co-branded eateries within grocery stores, such as Saladworks and Frutta Bowls, contribute to this boom, with locations opening in and around the Philadelphia area. Additionally, a Saladworks restaurant located within a ShopRite in Staten Island, New York, will incorporate Frutta Bowls into a co-branded restaurant. A current Fresh Grocer in Philadelphia also operates a Saladworks and Frutta Bowls restaurant under the Saladworks and Frutta Bowls brands.

Along with the co-branded restaurant launches in 2021, WOWorks inked additional co-branded restaurant agreements this year, including locations in Reno, Nevada, and San Juan Capistrano, California, both scheduled to debut in the spring. Saladworks’ existing restaurant in Morgantown, West Virginia, also secured an agreement to install Frutta Bowls in 2022. Other Saladworks and Frutta Bowls co-branded restaurant partnerships include one in Norfolk, VA, and three in Draper, UT, with one co-branded restaurant opening in 2022 and the other two following later.
