With the Phillips 66 family of companies, Wetzel’s Pretzels is now promoting a franchise opportunity. At Phillips 66, Conoco, and 76 branded retail outlets, owners will now operate a Wetzel’s Pretzels.

Frank Gonzales, director of non-traditional development at Wetzel’s Pretzels, believes they’ve been awestruck by the impressive growth of Wetzel’s Pretzels outlets at the 76 convenience outlets and the value this effort brings to the growth of both businesses. Further, he added that the whole team is delighted to offer more franchise operators that provide convenience and flexibility of operation. They promise to stay committed to ‘Bring Wetzel’s Pretzels to the masses’ on a wider scale.

The cooperation between Phillips 66 and Wetzel’s Pretzels combines Phillips 66’s background as a well-known energy corporation with Wetzel’s dynamism. This year, the notion has gained a lot of traction. Wetzel’s been recently nominated to Franchise Business Review’s “Top Food Franchises for 2021,” and Kim Freer, a leader of the food marketing business, was selected as a chief marketing officer.

Wetzel’s is a 25-year-old restaurant in Redondo Beach, California that exudes a distinct Southern California feel. The performance of Ron Reger and Alfred Daher in creating three Wetzel outlets in their 76 convenience shops in less than ten months has fueled the expansion of the store-within-a-store business model.

Wetzel’s has recently launched stores in malls, outlet centers, stadiums, boardwalks, convenience shops, Walmart stores, and transportation stations, with many more planned to open by the end of the year. It also operates a fleet of food trucks.

Wetzel’s Pretzels is a 25-year veteran of the snack franchising industry, has been nominated to Franchise Business Review’s Top Food Franchises and Culture100 for 2021. Bill Phelps and Rick Wetzel founded Wetzel’s Pretzels bakery on the “Wetzcoast” in 1996, offering a fun, new spin on soft pretzels. News spread well about the tasty and refreshing brand because of its mouth-watering soft pretzels, hand-rolled, cooked fresh, and served hot from the oven. Wetzel’s Pretzels has expanded to over 300 fresh bakeries across the world today.

On the other hand, Phillips 66 is an energy manufacturing and supply firm with a wide range of products. The portfolio includes Phillips 66 Partners, the company’s master limited partnership. The firm, headquartered in Houston, employs 14,000 people dedicated to safety and operational excellence. As of June 30, 2021, Phillips 66 has $57 billion in assets.
