Coffee franchise Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii has signed a multi-unit agreement that will bring five stores to the greater Tampa market by the end of the first quarter of 2024, renowned for its premium sourcing, roasting, and quality 100% Hawaiian and international blends. Chris Bruckner and Richard Elkhoury, longtime business partners, are leading the development of the LLC, High Caffeine Inc.

The two have been working together for over 30 years and have several concepts in central Florida that are actively growing. As a result, they own and operate 18 businesses in Florida and Boston, including gas stations, convenience stores and car washes. Their first location is expected to open in late Q4/early Q1 2023 after signing a franchise agreement with Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii. Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Treasure Island, and Wesley Chapel are just a few nearby cities being considered for the five planned locations.

Chris Bruckner said they knew they needed a competitive advantage when considering coffee brands, and Bad Ass Coffee was the perfect fit. Bad Ass Coffee stands out from the competition because of its high quality, unique branding, and deep ties to Hawaii’s culture. When we did our research, we found that Bad Ass Coffee stood out from the competition because it is unique and one that we can work with in the future. Trinity, where we are based, is a great place to grow our business because of its proximity to Tampa.

For more than a decade, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii has enjoyed great success in Florida. As tourist destinations, Naples, Miramar Beach, Pensacola, and Santa Rosa Beach draw visitors from all over the country. Brand awareness and franchisee validation are strengthened as Bad Ass Coffee expands into new markets in Florida, showing that its concept and model work well in similar markets.

In 1989, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii was founded on the Big Island of Hawaii to bring premium, American-grown Hawaiian coffee to a wider audience. Additionally, Bad Ass Coffee sources premium coffee from the Kona region of the Big Island and Kauai, Maui, and Moloka’i coffees. Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii also offers various beverages and food items, including signature lattes, cold brews, teas, and Hawaiian-inspired cuisine.

The brand is rapidly expanding, and it has set ambitious expansion goals of opening 150 new locations in the next five years, with territories available across the country.
