Julia Fitzgerald has been appointed as the new Chief Marketing Officer by Build-A-Bear Workshop, Inc. Ms. Fitzgerald will be a part of Build-A-Bear’s senior leadership team and report directly to the CEO. She will emphasize the company’s continued dedication to providing meaningful consumer engagement and experiences with the aim of fostering profitable growth through the strategic evolution of the business and monetization of the brand equity.

With a demonstrated track record of accelerating digital transformations and results, Ms. Fitzgerald provides more than 20 years of experience in developing and implementing marketing strategy, communications, and brand development. She has held top-level positions at Sylvan Learning, Sears, VTech, and Hallmark, and most recently held the post of Chief Marketing Officer at the American Lung Association. She has performed significant marketing roles in retail, toys, juvenile products, early education, and non-profit. She will oversee Build-A-Bear’s focus on brand communications, integrated marketing, public relations, creative services, and the company’s cause marketing initiatives in collaboration with the Build-A-Bear Foundation, its 501(c)3 nonprofit.

Build-A-Bear Workshop was established in St. Louis in 1997 and has been a part of innumerable life milestones for over 20 years. They run about 400 stores worldwide where customers can create and personalize furry friends, including company-owned locations in the United States, Canada, Denmark, Ireland, Puerto Rico, the United Kingdom, and China, as well as franchise locations in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, Mexico, the Middle East, and China.
